U Hanpen
Price: 50 руб.
The author explores the history of development of watercolor art in China. The modern Chinese watercolor painting had its origins in the period following the end of the Xinhai Revolution of 1911. Establishment of new art schools, return of students who were studying abroad back to China, rising interest in watercolor among artists —
all of the above was conducive to the start of the initial period of development of the modern Chinese watercolor art. In the 1950s, upon the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, the artists were influenced by the Soviet watercolors, and realism became the official trend in the national art. Beginning of reform policies and
openness in 1978 stimulated the start of the second culmination point in the development of the watercolor technique in China.
Keywords: history of development of watercolors in China, modern Chinese watercolors, specifics of the national character, diversity, training of watercolor artists.
