The attempt of philosophical analysis of lie as a social phenomenon is presented in the
article. A lie is considered as a source of conflicts based on the example of domestic and foreign cinema which is positioned as a material for philosophical reflection. In addition, the author’s attention is drawn to the works of G. Bataille, M. M. Bakhtin, H. Marcuse, G. Debord, J. Baudrillard, V. M. Rozin, V. I. Shakhovskoy. The author arrives at an idea that if morals as a correlate of external sociality correspond to such norms that form a steady (static) system of bans and instructions actualised from the outside, then ethics as a correlate of internal sociality act as a mobile (dynamic) system of the same bans and instructions, but actualised from within. The opportunity to unite one with another roots in philosophy of action.
