In the twentieth century European culture updates the concepts of cultural values and
rules of conduct. In cultural studies, this process puts a thorough revision of many cultural
processes. The result was an understanding of the ways of transforming and conservation
of the world picture. This article provides an analysis of the basic mechanisms of
preservation of cultural values in the philosophy of culture of the twentieth century and
identifis advantages and disadvantages of the concepts.
