The article reviews examples of the integration of video- and sound art into the space of memorial museums and historical monuments. Media art appears both as an exhibition item and an environmental tool. The author analyzes a spectrum of the unique expressiveness of this method of the artistic mastery and interpretation of space and articulates the basic difference between a media installation and a mere
introduction of video and audio content into the exhibition.
