The organisational and pedagogical bases of designing the sociocultural environment of
a educational organisation are considered in the paper as metatechnologies of patriotic
education. The author reveals substantial characteristics of the pedagogical categories
“patriotic education”, “sociocultural environment of a educational organisation”, and
justifis their component structure. The characteristics of the environment, providing its
relevance to patriotic education of students, include: generalisation, openness, structure,
dialogueness, comfort, safety, valency, reflxivity, humanitarianism.
