The authors of the paper actualise the issue of organisation of students’ independent
work involving not only the modern practice, but also the history of this issue in domestic pedagogy. The paper is focused on the organisation of students’ independent work at
departments of postgraduate and continuing vocational education of medical institutions
of higher education. The authors present the results of the research aimed at evaluating
students’ attitude to independent work at departments of postgraduate and continuing
vocational education and determining their readiness for it. The paper provides information on the research participants and the author’s questionnaire which fully meets the research idea. The authors analyse the research results and draws conclusions on the possibility to develop this form of work with students at departments of postgraduate and continuing vocational education.
