The article is devoted to the question of social relevance of traditional Indian medicine and identification of criteria of its authenticity under modern Russian conditions. The concept of neo-Hinduism franchise is discussed, the problem of certification of specialists in this field and organisation of their activity is considered as well. The author points out the main directions of developing the Ayurvedic approach authenticity criteria in application of practical skills, and reveals the value of the practical functionality criterion.
