The article explains the necessity to study gender peculiarities in the development of
the improvisation skill in the early school years. Consideration of the improvisation
skill development factors is an urgent task in the general context of the education
system reforming. The article presents the results of the empirical study, that identify
the dominant and subdominant creative and improvisational characteristics, determining the direction of the improvisation skill development among boys and girls. Identifying of the gender specificity and factors affecting the improvisation skill development in the early school years makes it possible to determine the future prospects of solving the relevant scientific psycho-pedagogical problem of the improvisation skill development in the early school years.
